Password recovery?

I just bought a PC from a lad here on boards - link.

Anyway, just got it setup now to do some work, but it's asking for admin password. So tried "password" etc, with no luck. So rang romperstomper, he said he hasn't used it in years and doesn't know what it is :rolleyes:.

He said I can get a password recovery program on the net?

Need to get this PC going today, what can I do?

Works fine for XP.

The hint is in the title.;)

How can I gain access to a Windows NT/2000/XP/2003 computer if I forgot the administrator's password? How can I reset the administrator's password if I forgot it?

I think it means.... Download the file. Make the BOOTDISK (Floppy/CD) and BOOT from that (After ensuring your bios has been set to boot from cd/floppy first).
You have a working computer to make a bootdisk on don't you? The one you are using now maybe?

Ah ok, thanks. I don't have any spare CD's to write BOOTDISK program too, would it be possible to boot from an external HD?

Thanks guys for all the help, but after getting a copy of XP, the CD Rom drive will not open.

I've no problem with windows password reset utils because you already have physical access to the PC, but no crackz.

password reset utils are self authenticating knowledge - if you can't work out how do do it after being posted the link three times ...
