    Hi there,
I just want to say that I'm upgrading my PC and want to ask you for suggestions. I'm a "heavy gamer" and I'm playing games like CoD4, NFS: PS, and soon also Crysis and this is what I'm looking for.

    My current PC is:
    CPU: Pentium D 2.80GHz
    Graphics: GeForce 7800GS 256MB (AGP)
    RAM: 1GB (2x 512MB)
    Motherboard: MSI PM8PM-V
    250GB + 80GB IDE HDD

What I want to upgrade is mainly CPU, but because I have AGP graphic card I would also have to change that and my motherboard doesn't support Quad Core CPU so have to change that too. Possibly no overclocking as I don't have any experience and don't want to risk.

What I was looking for is:
    Graphics: http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=342061
    CPU: http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=330169
    Motherboard: http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=330522
    + new RAM

And now finally I want to know your suggestions to those specifications and also ask you where could I buy those? Because komplett.ie has only credit card payment method which is unsuitable to me as I have some problems with it and can't use it :(
I live in Kells, Co. Meath

First of all, an e6750 would do equally well for games, and cost a fair bit less.
The graphics card is a good choice for games.
i'd recommend a p35 based motherboard over the p965 you have listed there (or an nforce 680i if you want to keep sli as an option.

www.hardwareversand.de will take bank transfers. Customer service and shipping are hit and miss at best, but the prices are excellent and they will deliver eventually.

the 8800 gt is the way to go!
I'd stick with your processor choice...it's higly overclockeable and more and more apps are going to be making more and more use of quad core cpus....
I agree about getting a p35 mobo though..it's more future proof..also it pci-e 2.0 compliant which won't give you a huge increase right now but again it's more future friendly...

have you checked dabs.ie to compare prices?..I've been finding dabs a lot better value recently

    Hi

Good idea a stronger CPU shoud add some more performance. Do not forget has a gamer myself I would also consider more ram. The smallest amount I would settle for is 2Gb ( personaly I maxed my system ). Ram prices are dirt cheap right now that it is easy to pick up a bargain. One thing to consider in what ever speed rating you choose ( tighter timings).

    Bye
