Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi all,
Just looking for some advice and some impartial opinions on which phone to get. (I know the Touch Cruise is only released)
These are tempting me at the moment but not sure which is best they all have pros and cons
    http://www.expansys.ie/p.Aspx?I=151713&se=405
    http://www.expansys.ie/p.aspx?i=146997
    http://www.expansys.com/p.aspx?i=159608
What I need in a phone is abilty to use excel and word files therefore windows mobile is necessary with touchscreen preferably, wifi and decent display quality, use internet on the go, would want something that won't slow down when a 4 or 5 applications are running, decent camera and video quality. Basically the three phones here have all the specs I want in a phone/pda. I have read what reviews I can find (loads on the TyTnII). Preference at the moment is
    1 eten (has vga display)
2 tytn (does almost everything but maybe too heavy)
3 cruise (not the best in looks dept IMO but also does everything)
I'm on the 3 network now and I know they don't support sim free phones but if any of these are used on 3 what will not work on the handset suppose i can move to vodafone if necessary.
    I would appreciate any advice.

    Wow.
Those are some serious cutting-edge phones there, mate.
The Eten X800 and the Touch-cruise aren't even available here yet are they?

Wouldn't say anyone here would have much experience of these handsets TBH except the Tytn II.

Anyway, I was just looking at the Touch-cruise specs recently myself and I think i'm in love.

Basically a HTC Touch (meaning a nice UI) with GPS and HSDPA. (wifi etc of course as well).
I think it has an fm radio and 3mp camera as well iirc.
And it's only about 130g (and iirc relatively thin).

TBH i've always thought the Tytn II was bulky (nearly 200g) despite it's near perfect specs.

I don't know that much about the X800 but apparently it has all that the others have. No slider keyboard though.

FWIW If I had the money i'd probably go for a Touch-cruise based on specs.
To me it seems like the best package around at the moment if you don't need a hardware qwerty.

I am warming to the touch cruise it seems to be the TyTnII without the keyboard. I saw some pictures of the touch cruise here http://www.mobile-review.com/pda/review/htc-touch-cruise.shtml but the review is in russian
here's a small video of it in action
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-IXiGBsLy0&feature=related
It looks grey but its actually a silver or mirror effect.

taibhse does everything work for you - can you check your usage and stuff?

mkennedy it's also the O2 xda orbit 2 in a different shell so it might come here in the new year launching in Germany soon

Yeah I actually posted about the Polaris/Orbit 2 a couple of days ago but I didn't realise it was the same phone as the Touch-Cruise.

O2 seem to be really on
the ball with that so because the Polaris/Touch-Cruise is barely released.

On that youtube review a couple of posters were saying it's an iphone clone.
Eh, don't think so. Apart from it improving the traditional ms UI.
Otherwise specs-wise there's no comparison really (thinness and UI apart).

The Touch-Cruise though seems to be nice and compact (130g and 15mm thick) for all the specs in it.

Haven't seen any reviews or anything on xda-developers about it but they should be imminent.

Also just looking on pdadb.net and every second ms smartphone seems to have gps in them nowadays.
e.g Imate's Ultimate series and a samsung handset as well.
Specs are improving all the time.

    Thanks.
Translation was a bit hard to read but I got the impression the reviewer wasn't that excited about it.
    Don't really know why tbh.

I like the look of it though.
