...because this might be quicker to get an indication of where we are, engine size wise.......

if you and your SO have a car each, one response for each. If you've got a 2nd/3rd/4th car - taxed ! - separate response for each.

I'm using taxed as a meter as to what the dept might base their 'fantasy' system on.........

    Ode To The Motorist

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

i reckon we should have this split into diesel and petrol. i noticed a lot of 2litre + responses in the last thread but most were diesel. it would be nice to know how many are petrol.

mine was petrol. Have had 3 2.0litre cars and the 2.5 over the last 3 years. All were petrol.

Ah right, missed that, thought you we're responding to Quarryman. I dont think he was talking for a tax pov, more general interest in the amount of P Vs D

A flawed survey this is, as it's what boards/motors forum readers drive, not the general public. But shur I'm sure you know that anyway. Going on the number of threads with BMW in the title I'd say BMW is the most common make, either that or BMW owners feel the need to publicise that they have a BMW.

The CSO published this info a while back (not the BMW info:D), and it might be available on their website. Average engine size (or should it be mean) was 1.8 iirc.
