Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi all,
My brother s Philips laptop received a Windows update during the week and after a restart the display was enlarged.

So I have a look in the device manager and the display adaptor has an error
Code 12 This device cannot find enoungh free resource's

So far I ve uninstalled the device and re installed, tried system restore, un installed the Windows Updates and everything else i can think off.

One strange thing I have noticed is that if I select "Show hidden device" I see another display adaptor of the same type working fine.

In safe mode all seems fine.

Laptop is running on Vista Premium, 2 gig of RAM.

well, seeing as you're running out of options, have you tried performing a repair on windows? i've had different nagging problems before, but i'll always try a repair before i think about reinstalling. It usually does the trick too!

[edit] i should say that was on XP though!!

first take a system restore snapshot *important*

then uninstall the hidden device , with luck it will be found on next boot
at worst you do a system restore - and hope you don't end up in vgasafe land if you have ATI drivers
