There's some really nice stuff in this thread alright - your own aint too shabby either Darren - enjoy 'em.

@QuickLickPaddy -love the Paisley Tele - the finish is beautiful. The world needs more paisley guitars! How does the DuoSonic/MusicMaster sound - Stratish/Teleish or it's own thing altogether?

Jaysus Paddy, you've some great taste! Paisley Tele and Duo-Sonic are my favourites. Put them to good use!

I honestly couldn't get over the condition. It looks and feels fresh out of the box and it was made in '93! I think the guy I bought it off bought it when it came out and is only selling it on now. I got a sickeningly good price for it too!

It's fairly Strat-ish when you're using the single coils individually but it's surprisingly versatile because you can use both pickups together both in and out of phase so you can kind of get a humbucker sound... But it definitely still sounds like a Strat bucker! I'm not even 100% what the different combinations of neck in/out of phase and how they match up with the bridge in and out... I just play with them till they sound what I want them to sound like :D. The tone pot on it is pretty handy for getting a really soft attack on the strings.

Considering my lust for guitars, that's about the biggest compliment you could have given me! Thanks El Pron :) Yeah, they're both new acquisitions. That squire Strat is incredible though. I wouldn't sell it for love nor money

DonkyDonk - is that a Bitrman on the left hand side? How are those things? Wanted one for a good while. Pedal-sized bit crusher and FM - why oh why did these go out of production?

Sorry, only saw you post now...

Yes indeed it is a Bitrman. There are some lovely warm compressor sounds out of it, cool digital distortion, a crazy deep phaser and downright mental FM effects! Very fiddly but so much fun!!

Pity they stopped making them alright. The cheap plastic casing means they need to be looked after at gigs!!

Just got a new Fender Jaguar yesterday from Thomann. I love it a lot!! It sounds amazing and love the variety of sound options compared to the usual pickup switch or tone control options.

I've new pedals from recent months in the pictures in photo thread, the Electro Harmonix Small Clone and the Marshall Vibrato/Tremolo pedal. Both good value. I bought a 2nd hand Ds1 in a boot sale last week but it isn't great outside of practicing in the bedroom. It didn't seem very loud when I was playing louder with other musicians so I've already scrapped it from my pedal board.

Thanks, she's a beaut to play too! I actually got it for 550 with a decent amount of haggling cos it used to be a Musicmaster II. But bar the scratch plate and the extra pickup (plus the pickup controls obviously) it's all original as far as I can tell! The only disappointing thing is the decal wore off at some point so that was replaced, but the neck has an August 64 stamp on it so it's definitely still legit!

    I know!!

    They are amazing!

I may sell it though as the el Capistan is almost as tasty sounding, as an, "analogue" delay and just does so much more!

I already bough an expression pedal for the EC as well!

If you haven't checked those Strymon pedals, and this goes for EVERYONE, do it today... best new GAS in ages!

Les Paul Supreme - "rare in Ireland" lol.

I never really understood the appeal of the Les Paul Supreme. For that kind of coin I'd go for a Historic.

@CianRyan: I played a Supersonic a few years ago and was quite impressed indeed. I remember liking the Vibrolux channel so much that I went and checked out a real Vibrolux. "Hail to you king of amps," I said after playing it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,721 ✭✭✭✭CianRyan

I've never come across a real Vibrolux but it's definitely something I'd love to try out.
I played a Bassman 4x10 today trying out the pedal and SS really isn't very far off it. I'd love to sit down and crank the three amps in succession. Easier said than done.

Great so far! I'm half tempted to hang up the basses for the moment with the new band that I'm putting together and just play guitar. It just sounds sooo good. :pac:

Add to that it's quite small and light. I was able to carry it around town with no issues.

    Thanks Lads!
Absolutely outstanding build quality and plays superbly BUT a previous owner has tinkered with the wiring and messed it up. Which could be the reason it went so cheap. Once everythings set up as I want (the classic Strat 5 way set up should work fine) it's gonna be a firm favourite.

    @MilanPanic.
Where'd ya pick up that Yamaha MSG/Image? Beautiful guitars. Check out Martin Booth, if you're not familiar with him already. UK luthier who designed the MSG and worked for Yamaha for some time. Now builds his own boutique stuff, but works off the MSG template.
If you're ever letting it go I get first refusal!

Adverts! Trading my 06 Gibson SG Standard for it.

Literally made the trade offer about 3 minutes after he posted it. Beat a trade offer of a Les Paul and another offer of a US tele.

If I ever wanna sell it I'll come back to you. ;)

    Hey boycey,

I have put the MSG up for TRADE only... I love it to bits (genuinely) but I actually prefer my SG2000, so I'm looking to trade it for another Yamaha SG.

I know you prolly don't have one, but I figure it's only fair to let you know!!

    http://www.adverts.ie/electric-guitars/yamaha-msg-looking-for-a-trade/1194694

I guess if you wanna pay a grand for it (don't do it) you could... but really I just set the price high to discourage a cash sale...

It's a grand bass, a few different people have used for different bands and gigs over the year without any complaints. In fact now that I think about it, it was my only bass up until I got the K5 in 2007 and it never let me down. In fact, the only change I've ever wanted to make to it was the subject of one of my first Boards threads (see here). I never got around to doing it though.
