Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Can Northern Ireland build on their relative success recently?

Just a quick question. Ive been intrigued by the Norths progress but was it all just a blip with normal service now to be resumed? or have they got the makings of a team that can again challenge in the next qualifying campaign? Im a little undecided about just how far they have actually come even though results would suggest they have come a long way. Healy is certainly a very useful player. However you do get the impression that many 'but's' exist. Can they hack it with the tag of respected opponents?

true but it was an awesome finish. 13 goals for david healy, that's pretty quality.

It's frankly quite amazing when you consider they've only scored 17 in total.

MOTM given to the guy who handled the ball. Talk about unashamed nerve on the part of the BBC commentators.

Fair Play to NI !!! Great win !!

Brilliant goal by Healy. The Irish team could learn alot from the passion and desire the NI players play with!

Agreed. Compared to the North our team (and supporters) are a disgrace.

True but he'd porb have gotten it anyway, i'm not sure if it was deliberate but he played a great game. Passion, determination and focus.

Hope the can play the same way against Spain.

I dont think it will matter much for them because I think Spain have beaten Sweden which means NI have to beat Spain and hope Latvia beat Sweden.

I'll bet Martin O'Neill, Gerry Armstrong and Pat Jennings disagree with you.

    Jesus wept.

He sure did right after being hit by a Norn Iron projectile. Just when you thought it was safe to go back in.:(

Northern Ireland are a small nation punching above their weight.

The Republic of Ireland is a slightly larger nation punching well below their weight.

Yes, we can learn from them.
