Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Gun Disassembly 2 for IPAD/ITOUCH etc.

    [EDIT: PC version too http://noble-empire.com/proj_gd2.php?page=downloads]

In a moment of weakness last night I bought a lifetime purchase for 15 Euros
for this lovely little app! (means any future models are free instead of paying 99c per gun)

It lets you look at the guns in layersand there is an interactive disassembly
    it looks lovely nifty.

If I ever get time (Too many interests never enough time)
I must try and start those blender/3d studio max lessons
and see about making my own 3d wireframe models.

If you like pulling polygons, (or have no choice by way of yer job)

    Blender is free
    http://www.blender.org/features-gallery/

3d studio max is expensive, lost track of autodesk who seemed to
merge software, split it, rename it, etc etc etc There used to be a students version of Maya or a free learning edition which was cool, but I dont think you could open models you created with it on the full version.

I used to do a lot in Maya, mainly level building for games like UT. Wireframing can be an unbearable pain in the arse, especially with complicated renderings, but it's ultimately the one delivering the best results, again especially with complicated renderings.
Textures and triggers were always the biggest pain for me. I can imagine building models as intricate as guns wouldn't be the easiest on textures if you wanted utmost accuracy either.

Anyone know any place that may sell an old 77 set ?
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AN/PRC-77_Portable_Transceiver

I've seen non-working shells on ebay a few times but have not seen places
selling functional sets with a "sane" price range (I'm aware you cant transmit without an IRTS license but still legal to own)

77 set for me has sentimental value from my FCA years being in a signal unit
and as a young teenager ONLY being allowed join a sig unit from my father who was Maaaaddd into his Radios. Always wanted to pick one up for the collection if I came across someplace selling them cheap.

I got field phones before from the good folks at SE airsoft which while not the ones the Irish Army used they were pretty
close! and just got the memories flooding in with all the shenanigans we got up to in the good ol days of playing pretend solider! long
    before airsoft! ;-P

Bastard officers used to always get me to carry both the 77 AND the Bren gun when on tactics before I
was Cpl. just cos it looked weird being the shorty and not the tall guy.

TBH, SE Airsoft is probably your best bet, if you're trying to source them in Ireland. :)

We don't want the radio shot up, leave it with the fsg... giving the machine gun to the radio man kills two birds with one stone. :D thats officer logic that.

Could have told you that before you saw it ;)

I bloody hate the way Micheal Bay shoots action scenes. Jumping the camera all over the place, close up shots, ect. If you're going to pay the money for all that CGI, keep the damn camera still so I can look at it.
