Just wondering if people thought it'd be worth to to buy a DX10 card for an XP machine or would I be better waiting for a newer release of Vista and get a complete system overhaul (CPU, Mobo and GFX card). That wouldn't be happening for about another 8 months though.
    Current specs:
    AMD 3700+
    2 Gig Ram
    GeForce 6800GS
    XP

with your specs there is no point on a dx10 card. Your cpu is to old and slow, and will bottleneck the graphics cards performance.

save up 200euro,sell your pc ,get a 4000+ dual core pc with pci-e ,2slots could be handy for sli graphics.IF YOU know how to build pcs you could get mobo, with 2 ide slots, and ddr and use your old hard drive, dvdwriter, and memory in the dual core motherboard, put 80gig,500meg ram in the athlon and sell it.
You can buy a pc unit and use your present monitor, depends on your budget.
The single core athlon is at the end of the road,if you wanna play,bioshock,cod4 at good resolution ,move up to duAL CORE pcs.See bargain alerts, pc sale iQon closing down sale, dual core pcs going cheap. Most new games now ,are designed for dual core pcs.
