Start me up

Hello all,

I am a total newbie to the world of audio and video editing.

I'd appreciate some advice!!!

Basically, I have lots of family videos on tape and on the computer as mpegs etc, and I would like to put them on DVDs to preserve them.

I have a new Dell laptop bought in August and a budget of about 300 euro for buying software and things.

Anyone got any advive as to a first project could try?

Deliverance

convertXtoDVD worked well for me, converting various file formats to dvd. I think it's cheap enough. http://www.vso-software.fr/products/convert_x_to_dvd/ There is a nice little video tutorial on this site as well as the download.

You are a gentleman and a scholar Deliverance.

Will give the software a trial and shop around for a converter.

Will post how I get on, so it might help other newbies!

Fairplay, it took me lots of trial and error and lots of wasted disks to get to the point of success. Help from others on this and other forums was invaluable. Feel free to ask more questions if you have any probs with software, but it is easy enough to use.
