    I don't have that many,

    Bob Dylan
    Bon Jovi
    Robert Plant
    U2
    Meatloaf
    Chilli Peppers
    Velvet Revolver
    The Who
    Foo Fighters
    James Brown
(Suprised to see Boss Volenti up here Koth, is that counted as a concert if it was a small pub gig?)

Thats all I can remember - although if we're talking about pub gigs now thats a different story.

I'm going on how well a band is known, at least for Irish bands. Boss Volenti would be known by enough people to be on that list.

If Aslan can be counted, I'm definitely counting Boss Volenti.:)

There's probably some more. The one that stands out for me by a mile is Bright Eyes. I saw him last year in Italy and there can't have been more than 300 people there. Got front and centre and was happily singing along to every song in my semi drunken state and considering it was in italy, where he isn't massive and the set list was spread out over all his albums I must have been the only one singing to everything. Well anyway, Conor noticed this and during the last two lines of the last song of the encore, Gold Mine Gutted, he jumped down onto the grass, put one arm around me and together we finished the concert. It was magical

With the exception of the first three they are all random as the memory gives up its ghosts. I’m sure I’ve still missed some.

Queen(WITHOUT PAUL RODGERS) x5 My first gig 22-11-1979 at the R.D.S. It was the first time Queen performed “Save Me” and “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” Freddie also sang Danny Boy. Nobody in the crowd realised there was more than one verse so Freddie belted it out all by his lonesome. Still the best gig I was ever at. Queen also provided one of the worst gigs at Slane in 1986. Terrible weather, mini riot to the left of the stage and Brian May deciding that a 20 minute guitar solo was just what the crowd wanted.

U2 x22 from 26-02-1980 Croke Park 1987 pure nirvana. After hearing the new single I think a parting of the ways between U2 and myself is on the cards.

Live Aid 1985. Nothing more needs saying.

The Clash, The Stranglers, Tom Robinson Band, Simple Minds x3, Big Country x2, Bob Marley & The Wailers, Hothouse Flowers, Tracy Chapman, Suzanne Vega, Bob Seger, Weezer, Nirvana
The Pixies, Lou Reed, Avril Lavigne(With Daughter, could have been worse) Stepaside, The Blades, Full Circle(Saturday nights in the Baggot Inn) Sharon Shannon(The longest night of my life) Manic Street Preachers, Meatloaf x2, The Cure, Neil Finn, Beautiful South, The Strokes, Bob Dylan x2, Modest Mouse, Iron Maiden, In Tua Nua, Chris Rea, Christy Moore, Moving Hearts, Status Quo, Brian Wilson, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rolling Stones, Thin Lizzy(With Phil)
Guns ‘n’ Roses, The Pogues, Dire Straits x3, Green Day, The Who, The Police, Sting, Morrissey, Smashing Pumpkins, Coldplay x3, E.L.O., Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles, Neil Young,
Peter Gabriel, Mike & The Mechanics, Genesis x3, Steve Winwood, Muse, Modest Mouse, Joe Jackson, Radiohead x2, Eric Clapton, Ultravox, Fat Lady Sings, An Emotional Fish, Motorhead(I think in Navan) Oasis x2, David Bowie, Phil Collins, Eurythmics, Nik Kershaw(The First concert I took the present Mrs Leincar to) Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Van Morrison(More long nights. He popped up everywhere in 1992/3), Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers x2, Metallica x2, Rush x2(Awesome) AC/DC x2, Reo Speedwagon, Toto(Unbelievable musicians), Arcade Fire x2, Kings Of Leon x2, Journey, The Killers, Snow Patrol(3rd Longest night), Damien Rice(2nd Longest night, I think he cries after he has sex), Paul Young, Simon & Garfunkel, Neil Diamond, Paul Simon(Thanks to Miriam Makeba it was Mrs Leincars longest night), Bruce Springsteen x5, Prince, Michael Jackson(Another long night), Elton John, The Verve, R.E.M.x6, Bon Jovi, Johnny Halliday.

On the wish list Pink Floyd and Supertramp(For the inner Prog)

Hold up dude... Metallica, Lamb Of God & Mastodon??? When, where and HOW the **** is this happening!?

Its one of the legs of Metallica's European tour. I'd be quite dead by the time Metallica even hit the stage, and not even a big Lamb of God fan.

Queen also provided one of the worst gigs at Slane in 1986. Terrible weather, mini riot to the left of the stage and Brian May deciding that a 20 minute guitar solo was just what the crowd wanted.

Aye, It's a costly hobby but where would I be without music and gigs? Add to that the amount of travelling I have to do, not everyone has the luxury of living in Dublin and having a gig option most nights of the week at their disposal.

The Waterboys gig 1987...Greenpeace Ship...Dublin Docks...May evening...sun setting...pint of Guinness in hand...magic. ..pictures of that gig went onto the cover of Fishermans Blues album..
