How to open ports on Netopia 2247NWG?

How do I configurate ports correctly on the eircom "netopia" 2247NWG dsl router? I am already on the expert mode under "Firewall (NAT)" > Advanced. I just don't get what they want in addition to the port range. I'd love to just add TCP and UDP for port 52525. Thanks for any help in how to make this work on that DSL router!

Have you a static IP address set up?
Put 52525 in the from and to box and also add it to the base port box. Select either TCP. If you need both just create a new rule with the same options and tick UDP.
