    Saturday November 24th – DownTownSounds @ Ri-Ra
Maurice Fulton (Basement Boys/Tirk Records – 3 hour set)
Free before 11.30 (Access Through Globe)/ €10 after

A man who learnt his trade under Stateside legends like Tony Humphries and Tee Scott before going on to work with the renowned Basement Boys production team in New Jersey, Maurice Fulton has been in the production and dj-ing game for over 20 years now. Having made his European Dj debut in 1990, he went on to break through to the mainstream when he co-produced Crystal Waters’ worldwide hit ‘Gypsy Woman( La Da Dee)’ in 1992.
A regular at renowned clubs like London's Fabric and Manchester's Electric Chair, his prodcutions have been included on compilations by the diverse likes of 2 Many Dj's, Unabombers, Idjut Boys, Trevor Jackson and Four Tet.
Over the years he has recorded or remixed for a ‘who’s who’ of underground labels – from Warp, Wave and Classic to Output, Compost, Balihu and his current home, Tirk Records, also home to New Young Pony Club, Idjut Boys and Andy Cato of Groove Armada’s ‘SugarDaddy’ project.
His DJ sets are as broad in range as his production credits, zigzagging smoothly between soul, funk, disco, electroboogie, italo, party classics and house. Check out the recording of his DTS debut in September 2005....

    Friday 7 Dec @ Tripod
    Pod and DownTownsounds presents:
AIM (FULL LIVE BAND) PLUS PABLO ( DJ SET)
    Tickets 18e from usual outlets

Aim’s unique sound sits somewhere between hip hop, electronica and 21st Century soul. Following a starring live performance at this year’s Garden Party and a party rockin’ DJ set for Heineken Green Synergy in Solas in October, leader Andy Turner returns to these shores with full live band in tow. The Manchester producer has established himself as one of the UK's leading underground artists, releasing the critically acclaimed 'Cold Water Music' and 'Hinterland' albums on the renowned Manchester label Grand Central Records as well as remixing a whole host of artists including Ian Brown, St Etienne & The Charlatans.

Combining atmospheric strings and film samples with soulful vocals and warm hip hop beats he has carved out a huge cult following in over 12 years of producing and releasing music. The success of 'Hinterland' allowed him to form a 9 piece live band to tour the album to the four corners of the globe.

Having left Grand Central and launched his own Manchester based independent label - ATIC Records - Aim has just released the third album, 'Flight 602' which looks set to propel him to further heights.

    Saturday 8th December - 52Funk @ Kennedy’s
Lindstrom ( Live ) and Prins Thomas (DJ Set) +
Doors 9pm. Admission €15 tickets/18€ on the door
Tickets available from Big Brother Records and Kennedy’s

Hans Peter Lindstrom has helped to put Norway on the 21st Century disco map with a string of cosmic releases on his self-run Feedelity imprint, as well as floor-burning remixes for LCD Soundsystem and Franz Ferdinand. His 'I Feel Space' cut has become a huge underground anthem, making it's way into DJ boxes right across the spectrum thanks to huge remixes by luminaries like Mandy, Freeform Five and Tiefschwartz.
Together, Lindstrom and Prins Thomas have put together two LP's of collaborative material for The Glimmer Twins' Eskimo label, as well as collaborating on remixes for Thomas' Full Pupp label. Thomas has also found time to collaborate with the likes of MUDD ( Rong Music) and Justus Konchke ( Kompakt Records), and has seen his 'Major Swellings' project appear on The Idjut Boys’ Noid imprint.
His distinctive brand of freaky-deaky funk, disco, cosmic boogie and otherworldly house and techno sounds has rocked clubs in the four corners of the globe, with his recent 'Cosmo Galactic Prism' mix for Eskimo displaying the mindmelting range and breadth of the man's music collection.
We’ll be supplying a second floor of music in the upstairs bar in Kennedy’s so that people have some sanctuary from the madness, visuals, decorations, the kitchen sink and much more….. Most of all, this is a unique opportunity to see two of contemporary dance music's leading lights together on one small stage. An unforgettable night is promised!!
