I was lukin ar carzone earlier and i saw you can get a skoda octavia vrs(2.0 tfsi 200bhp gti engine) for 32500 euro. You then see evry second person driving an avensis or passat dat cost exactly the same. Whats more they dont even charge extra for mettalic paint. So dats a vw passat 1.9 tdi comfortline vs Skoda Octavia wit almost twice the power. Who can honestly say dey wudnt have the skoda???

I dont think i would as good as it sounds im sure you could find something a bit older for the same price, i have a mate that bought a 00 S class for 21,000. I have to say its the most beutifull car i have ever sat in.

Just to put the cat amongst the pigeons - the new Passat is based on a stretched Golf platform ;-)

I heard the Passat is based on the Veyron.

Some people simply don't want or have no need an Octavia vRS or any other hot hatch for that matter.

People buy and drive different cars for different reasons.

Alot of people don't apply the logic "look what I can get for €x amout" when buying a car.

Does the Value on those Octavia's hold well?

    Slightly off topic,

If you search on carzone for a 03 Octavia the first result states "One of FIve in Ireland VRS". If you do a bit of counting on that page theres five VRS's for sale.

Sounds about right. It's the Superb that's a stretched B5/last gen Passat.

An ould-ish fella near me has a yellow one. I think it's a 03... Stands out in the crowd but a a close inspection the yellow on it is hidious... Very bad shade... If i wanted value for money i'd buy an old diesel Superb

So you don't get it any cheaper if you get a flat colour. That's so stingey!
