hot spots

Hi guys . my wife has a laptop and we were on holds in summer time ,and we could see on our eircom graph that there was a (hot sopt ) i guess you call it was nearby but i tryed to pick it up ,it was in range ok but could not get on to it , do i have to ask eircom to do some thing to let me log- on to it ?

AFAIK you have to buy a card, 10e an hour or so, I've used it @ knock airport. It gives you a time limited encryption key to the network.

You have to sign up for it (read:pay them money). Pretty shit if you ask me.

Indeed; you do have to sign up.
Some of the hotspots around Dublin are free (Not many!). Otherwise, if you're an Eircom customer, you can apply for a free trial username and pass (Valid until April 2008, IIRC)

hi folks

when I am a hotspot I get the option of buying 30 mins, 1hr, 24hr or 7day access. Is there a way I can purchase one of this and get a username and password before using the wifi (ie) get it through their website before hand. I can find this option on their website
