I just wanted to say that there should be an off-topic section, because not everything fits into a subforum, and if there is a subforum for your subject, it'll probably never be looked at, because it's on the bottom of the page.

Just so we're clear, Sandwich117, you find the most relevant forum or sub-forum and post there. If it's of general interest or you really don't want a serious discussion of the matter then you try AH.
Your Ice hockey in Dublin thread for example goes in a Dublin forum.
it'll probably never be looked at, because it's on the bottom of the page.
It'll certainly never been looked at if everyone chooses to ignore the relevant forum.

It will be read. It will be read by people with similar interests and/or knowledge. If you post it in a more 'obviously visited'(for want of a better expression) it'll obviously be seen but not necessarily "looked at", nor may it yield any useful responses.

    Thank you.
