    Hi,

I just read that the CL will have some smaller changes from 2009:

    - The third placed from the group stages are not going to join the Uefa Cup anymore.

    - the champions of the 12 best countries are directly qualified (instead of 10 atm)

    - In addition to that the Cup winner of the previous season, the teams that came second in Germany, France and Romania and the teams that came second and third from Spain, Italy and England.

    - The remmaining ten teams will be played out in three qualification rounds, but at the end at least five further national champions are guaranteed their spot (which mean more nations in each seasons CL)

So that means that each season at least 17 of the teams are National Championship Winners, but also that the third UK team is from then on automatically qualified.

    Cheers,
    DubDani
