Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

My local Peter Mark has a "Models Required" sign up in their salon at the moment. I think they're looking for heads for their trainee staff to work on?
Someone said that you can get a cut& colour for much cheaper than the regular price. Is this true and would I be mad to try this? I need to save some money at the moment and my usual cut and colour costs a fortune!

    Hey,
I usually always go to these colour classes. You can usually get highlights and a cut for 50-70 euro which is a lot cheaper than regular prices. I always end up happier with my hair after these classes as the students really take their time and their teachers keep coming back to check up on them. They're also a lot more willing to give you new ideas too i find. Only downside is that it takes a LOT longer usually but for the price its worth it.

Which Peter Marks did you see the sign? I was ringing around a few today (I badly need my hair done too!) but they all said they were done with classes til after christmas :(

I see this all the time too...i dont think i would trust it! If your cut and colour is pretty standard and not too styled then maybe it'll be fine but my hair is really styled and i'd never get a trainee to do it! You never know..it could be their first ever cut and that could be a disaster!

Usually for classes they charge around half the salon price. They're very well supervised and they don't let complete novices do colours or cuts. It's a great way of getting your hair done cheaply. The only disadvantage is that it takes longer to do since it's a class.

I go to classes all the time for my colour

it's fantastic, and the students are always on their best behaviour and very attentive with their teacher watching

of course I get mine free because I know the owner ;)

Do they do what you want or are you basically letting them do whatever they have to for the class? I'd be very worried that they'd give me the new trendy haircut at the moment - you know the one with different colours at the front and it's a sort of mullet cut with different lengths all around. It was done to some poor girl on Off The Rails recently!

They usually do what you want them to do. i think what they do is when you book in advance they assign you to a student who is currently learning whatever style you want so you might have one student cut, another one colour etc
