    Ive passed my test this week, Do I need R plates? Can i drive in europe or do I need wait 2 years?

    no r plates needed, you can drive where you want,

    R plates aren't needed in ROI yet but are in NI.

    Once you get your full licence you can drive in Europe -most (but not all) rental companies will require that you've had the licence for a year at least if you're renting.
