Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I've been growing my hair now since august and its getting to the stage where I need to control it abit..

I dont like using gel's like Brylcream cause of that 'hard' 'wet' 'blotchy' look it gives so I wanna use a moose.

My hair's fine and straight so what moose would people recommend to use to control it, i dont want a mad wet look, i want my hair to look like its more natural, not like i put hours of effort into styling it... any tips for how to style it? what kind of comb should I use?

    thanks

I wouldn't bother with moose to be honest. I use three things to get a natural, non-greasy look. But of course ya use them in moderation or you're screwed. After hair is dry and straight I try cover all the hair with L'Oreal play ball (the green one), you can get it in House of Colour or online:

    http://www.hqhair.com/code/products.asp?PageID=1159&SectionID=1650&FeaturedID=14320&FeaturedProduct=9642&pID=1&cID=1

The only thing with that is that while it makes ur hair look great it won't hold very well so to style and finish use American Crew Fiber Crew, it's great but only when used with Play Ball beforehand, makes the hair look hard and defined, but not wet or greasy. Barber across from Central Bank and Stephens Green have it:

If you need a final thing like hairspray (mine flies about otherwise), use this, its absolutely the best hairspray you could ever need:

You probably won't need all 3 of those, but only buy the L'Oreal in conjunction with one of the other two, or both. And don't bother listening to anybody else, seriously it took me ages to find wax etc that wasn't terrible :D

Oh and don't use a comb, just use a normal brush like one of these:

Surely any straight man wouldn't be reading a thread entitled 'Good moose for men's hair' :D:D

I find its alot easier on my hair than Brylcream or other gels..

ok so I have curly wavy hair (male) and want to kinda grow it a bit. whats the best stuff for a matt finish. don't like gel, wax is too shiny and doesnt hold. I've been using hair clay for a while but my hair is getting a bit long for that.

Also is there a way of getting my hair cut without losing too much length, i.e to make it thinner at the back but still longish. I've always gone to a barber but might splash out on a hair salon. considering colour aswell, I've ****ty blonde brown hair, so was thinkin very subtle highlights

    any thoughts? cheers

Yeah this is somethin that really annoys me. Im tryin to grow my hair a bit but it got a bit out of hand so I thought it needed a bit of a trim. Anyway I went into the barbers and explained to him that I wanted to let it grow and that I wanted very little off the length. And what do ya think he did? Took loads off it! Can anyone recommend somewhere good to go where this wont happen or even what to ask for?
