Don't think the Irish Motor Industry will be happy with that

A little bit of competition never did anybody a bit of harm esp in this sector where there's nice juicy margins!!!!

Confused: can anyone tell me what the price of a new Mazda 6 (2008) 1.8litre will now be based on the following (and taking into account VRT change and VAT):

Current price 30,450 with VRT at 25%.

However, emissions have dropped from 184mg in the old model to 161 in the new model which I think means the rate of VRT drops from 25% to 24%.

So, what will the price drop to in July?

A few hundred Euro at the very most(assuming it's 24% VRT).
