    The carrying around of knife as a sheikh? Was an issue in Canada recently, I can't remember whether they decided to allow it or not.

    surely this was medical issue first and foremost and then became entwined in religion, im not convinced the supposed medical benefits outweigh the risk or the procedure

    I'm fairly sure it was a religious practice first found to have ancilliary medical benefits later. Pretty dubious ones to my mind.
