    A noisy camshaft eh? that means there's bad noises (not normally produced by a healty engine) coming from the camshaft (which is for the opening and closing of the valves in the cylinder head), and/or from the associated valve gear (valve springs, valves eyc).
    The cam and/or its associated parts are worn in whatever engine it is that youve been looking at.

    Depending on the year of your Polo, 'camshaft noise' can actually be caused by faulty hydraulic valve lifters (tappets).

    Is the noise a sharp 'tap-tap' that increases with engine speed? Does it come and go?
