Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    The cheat.

Messi wants a good smack. At least the refs not falling for his codology.

Keeps diving? When? He was clearly taken down on the edge of the box at one stage.

Great game, got a bit of everything. Good attacking play, sensational passing, two very juicy one-on-ones in Juninho v Toure and Iniesta v Santos. Toure is the best player of the half for me, absolutely cracking player.

It looked like Juninho threw his head at Toure's shoulder, think thats what the fuss was over

Doubt we'll see it again but it looked like he got up and threw his head into Toure's shoulder.

He's dived on more than one occasion.

Yeah, he's being fouled at different times, fair's fair, but he has been diving too.

Brady says justice done, but still haven't seen the replay of the Messi incident...wtf are they doing?

2-2. Can Lyon sneak this one??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,473 ✭✭✭Roddy23

Senderos is having a shocker as is Traore. A few strange ones in the Seville Arsenal game, ref awarded a peno, then reversed his decision.

    Fúck me.

I had forgotten Dinho was on the pitch.

Arsenal were woeful tonight. For once I'd actually like to Wenger make an effort to win their group rather than just qualify

    This is funny.

Giles and Brady slating British managers for "lack of knowledge". And Souness right beside them.

Now Dunphy riding Keane for buying bad players but telling them to pass the ball.

Who cares, what a great free kick :) That's the one for the season then :) Bad play from United, but they pulled through in the end, which I had faith they would. Saha looks completely uninterested, shocking really.

p.s. What a terrible attempt at a dive by Evra, hilarious, and he knew it.

Big win for United. Now they can play the kids against United, and be totally fresh for the Liverpool game, while Liverpool will have to put out a full strength team.

Cracking goal from Ronaldo. Top scorer in the Champions League this season, and 11 goals in his last 11 games. Not too shabby by anyones standards.

ronaldo, once again, does it when its needed.

catching up with fabregas in terms of player of the year so far....theres little between them, infact, ronaldo is now playing better than fabregas....5 champions league goals so far is an incredible return, and 3 of them have been great goals.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,617 ✭✭✭✭PHB

I would say that Fabregas has been much better than Ronaldo so far this season. That said, what's nuts about Ronaldo is that he isn't even close to top form yet. His play in general still isn't that high, he's not playing great at all. However, he is still chipping in with big goals and big assists despite that. When he actually hits some form, well, as Kaka said, maybe he'll be the one to take United to the CL final this year.

Love the RTE panel. Waxing lyrical about Arsenals style of play seemingly oblivious to the fact that they've been beat 3-1 tonight. In fairness to them, they're a damn sight more entertaining that the ****e anyone else puts on. Although Dunphy is annoying me by not researching the match he's doing; Souness had to point out Eric Abidal was previously with Lyon.

So with Barca, Man Utd, Arsenal, Inter, Sevilla qualified thus far, who's the best bet of making it all the way? Barca seem far too shaky at the back for me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,604 ✭✭✭herbieflowers

Barca have always been shaky at the back, although I think Utd or Arsenal would take them

that was hardly Arsenal playing a full strength team and tryign their best now was it.

Barca - United would be a dream match to watch.

I can see ManYoo in the final tbh.

They really dug out that win tonight to win the group.

They have Rooney to come back, the Neviller, Hargreaves hasn't had a proper run in the team yet either. Scholes.

Anderson looks a class act, I love his style of play and he'll do well for them.

If Giggs can have a couple of good games in Europe for them, back to something like his old self, and when Ronaldo hits proper form, they will be a very scary proposition.

When Berbatov signs in January, and they are rid of Saha, the choice of striker will be brilliant. Rooney, Tevez and Berbatov.

Yeah, United will go close this season, if not win the damn thing.

Oh and, Ronaldo better than Fabregas? Having a laugh whoever said that.
