Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

USB Wireless Adaptors and Windows 98/98SE

    Hi everyone,

I'd be really grateful if someone might be able to help me out. I've just bought a wifi-enabled Dell laptop and have ordered a wireless modem from Eircom to use with it. In our home, we also have an old Gateway desktop (Windows 98), so I also ordered from Eircom a Netopia USB Wireless adaptor so that we can use that with the wireless modem as well.

Anyway, Eircom's website says that this adaptor will only work with Windows 98 SE, XP etc. but I was wondering whether anyone knows if it'll work with Windows 98 as well? According to the customer service rep I spoke to, Eircom broadband itself won't work with Windows 98 (only 98 SE upwards), but we've had broadband for about 3 years now, and as far as I'm aware, the operating system is just regular Windows 98.

    Any thoughts appreciated!

Wireless adapter won't work - it's nothing to do with bb, but with USB support. as far as I'm aware win98 won't support it so it simply won't work.
Starting with win98 SE USB support was added.
However it may work[but not necessarly] with ethernet connection[cable] instead of wireless. You just nead a network card.

Thanks for the reply! I've been on to Eircom and have cancelled the adaptor order. Think it's about time we just upgraded this computer, it's so fricking old.

    Cheers.
