Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

[Talk to your dell sales person if you feel you were sold the wrong product or maybe they could send you out an XP license.

the vista home license does not allow you to install XP
the license of the XP cd from the previous laptop does not allow you to install XP on any other machine

The charter says this forum is about software you have a license for

You could buy a retail license,
an upgrade license is no use to you
you could upgrade VISTA home to a version that allows a downgrade to XP PRO

you will have to get a legit movable XP license if you want to use XP.

Or learn to live with vista - submit feedback on microsofts website or phone them

I really hate microsofts convoluted licensing and since there are MANY free operating systems out there there is no way I can condone people helping install dodgy software. ]

Alternative OS's apart from the many flavours of Linux include BSD, Solaris and a some form of BeOS

If it's only a week you could try to return it but definately pressurise the salesperson
