    From ireland.com:
The west coast may experience the highest waves in years this weekend, the Marine Institute has warned.

The institute and Met Éireann have warned the conditions, particularly tomorrow afternoon, will be hazardous to ships and fishing vessels, and those walking close to the shoreline, or fishing from the shore in exposed areas.

Waves of up to 14 metres in height are predicted off the west coast tomorrow afternoon. The last time waves of this size were recorded was on January 17th, 2005.

"Similar conditions could occur this weekend if the weather systems develop as predicted," the Marine Institute said.

So is anyone insane enough to brave these 14 metre waves? :D

Went to Garretstown and Garrylucas beaches waves were very messy and close togeather, there was one bodyboarder out and a kitesurfer setting up when I arrived. They were both out for about twenty minutes then the hailstones came and the wind rose and that put an end to it,for a while.

After the shower I went around the corner to Garrylucas, there was one windsurfer out a kitesurfer setting up and three surfers attempting to paddle out. There was soon a few more windsurfers out.Winds were gusting alot and the waves were fairly big roughly 12 foot, tide was out and wind was cross onshore.
Photos are on flickr account below and will edit video over the next day or tow, want too do a good job of it.

Where exactly in Mullaghmore is the big wave spot? Is it the point beside that little rocky bay, a few minutes past the village? When does it break?
