I've talked to Mike a few times, (I'm fairly regularly on scale4x4) he's from a model building background, scratchbuilding stryene mostly. He pops up online for a few months, posts 2 or 3 of these epic builds, then disappears again when real life gets in the way. He's also built an amazing Mini, using another M02 chassis, right down the the Bosch alternator. The guy is a legend, and held in very high regard in Scale R/C circles. He was working on a scratchbuilt Caterham/Lotus Seven the last time I saw him post.
