Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Why are these games being played this week?

None of the other groups have matches this week.

    Isn't this a unique situation?

Don't remember ever seeing 1 group play on their own in an off week.

Do Milan play the world club championship soon?

As far as ive been told its because milan play in the World Club Championship next week.
Seems bizzare though that they would organise it to be at the same time as such an important stage in the CL

    FIFA vs UEFA.

Nothing to stop them moving Milan's group games, as we can see this week.

Inter played Ajax a couple of years ago in the CL a week after the group stages because AC had a home game the same week due to the way the games were scheduled.

Inter won 2-0 and Adriano missed a peno as far as I can remember.

Oh i know mate....still strikes me as bizzare though.
Maybe their motto should be "working together for the good of football" ;)

I think the Benfica v Shakhtar match had to be moved forward aswell.

There's no way I could wait a whole week to know how that match pans out should Celtic not get a point in Milan. :(

    From UEFA regs:
10.03 In principle, the fixtures within a group on the last matchday must be played simultaneously. The UEFA administration is authorised to fix the kick-off times.

Given the positions in the group UEFA would never plan to play the games on different dates.

I know that - unfair advantage and all that - was just saying I couldn't handle it if I had to wait for a week to know if Celtic had qualified for the CL knockout or not.

Think that has happened a few times (or maybe I'm struggling to seperate reality and Football Manager... again). This weeks change is due to the World Club Championships.
