    Hi to all,
I need some advice buying perfume for the better half - what's the "must-have" perfume now, or can anyone recommend a nice one
    Thanks in advance,
    Tommy

JeanPaul Gautier is nice, or Issey Miacky (sp?).
Does she have one already? Just as some women are picky about perfumes (me for example), or has she mentioned any?

Chanel Chance is a sure winner

    flowerbomb - viktor and rolf
    Rock and Rose - Valentino
    Alien - Thierry Mulger
    Armani Code - Armani
    Very Irresistible Givenchy - Givenchy
The one - Dolce and Gabanna
In Two - Stella Mc Cartney
    Lovely - Sarah Jessica Parker
    Chance - Chanel

I think all those are nice, but it totally depends on your girlf tbh. Some people hate certain perfumes and some love them. Think you should suss her out first.

I had it a couple of years ago so it's not really 'new'. A lot of women commented on it and at least person went and bought it after smelling it on me so it could be a safe enough bet. Personally, I hated it after wearing it a few times but that's just me.

I know exactly what you mean! I wanna narrow it down to maybe 2 or 3 - when I go into the chemist's, they just bombard me with samples and I can't tell them apart after the first 3!

Very Irresistible - Givinchey is my all time favourite but there's so many nice ones to chose from, it's a tough one.

+1. This is my favourite perfume. Would never wear anything else. Plus Chanel is expensive enough so it's always nice to get as a pressie.

If she doesn't have one already make sure she is into perfume.
I wouldn't use the stuff because of all the carcinogenic compounds.

Yeah can't go wrong with any of those 3, all gorgeous no matter what she likes she'll like them.

Clohe or Dolce and and Gabbana are quite popular with the ladies

Was in Lush on saturday and found some really nice all natural perfumes that look like lip balm. Your best bet would be to go to a good perfume shop and tell them what she has already and you would like to buy her something a long the line of the same. Not the exact same but somewhere along the lines. Your best place, i think, would be something like Brown thomas or arnotts or somewhere people work on specific counters. Also don't under estimate yourself most of the time ladies but perfume with the man in the life in mind so if you like something and its a long the same lines as what she has, she might like it herself.

Let us know what one you get!

I love the way guys are coming in here and asking questions!

    so sweet!

I LOVE Euphoria, it's a bit intense so it's more of a nighttime perfume, but Euphoria Blossom is a lovely daytime version. Other perfumes I like are Dune, Burberry Touch, Ghost and Miracle (the original one), but it's really hard to pick perfume for someone else. Maybe check to see if she's running low on any of her faves, I got a couple as presents that I'm not too keen on and I just can't wear them because I feel sick for the day if I do :(

Got to a decent chemist today and ended up getting her the new gucci perfume, at the assistant's advice - I can't remember the name but it's pink in a square bottle!

I tried the chanel sampler but couldn't really smell anything apart from the alcohol - I can smell it off my hand now, it's not bad! (If she's a good girl, I might get her that as well!)

Ehh? I wouldn't know an awful lot about this being a guy. . . . but what about checking out her bathroom cabinet where she'll have stored her favourite perfume.

    Just get her that.

Otherwise you're screwed and will have to come on here and ask . . . oh! :o

LOL, was that meant to be a joke??

Chance is a good bet, it's been out a few years but very nice, then again it depends on choice, what does she wear at the moment?
