    Hope someone can help?

    Just after buying a Asus P5E3 Deluxe X38 motherboard & I was wondering if my existing Crucial DDR2 BallistiX PC8500 Ram will work on this board? I know the board is designed for DDR3 but thats still a bit pricy at the moment & the reviews are less then favorable...

    I looked at the crucial memory selector and it only showed that DDR3 types of memory would work.

    Simply, no.
    Check dabs.ie quicklink 4SN1WS or 4SC0WS
    Im guessing one of these is yours, or similar to it. Scroll down and you'll see its DDR 3 compatible, and the type of ram also PC3-8500 etc.
