    Junction presents...

    MANTRAP Recordings Label launch

    Saturday, December 15th, 2007.

@ The Cavern, Frenchman's Lane, Store St, Dublin 1

    Ed Devane (LIVE)
    Rory St John (LIVE)
    Magnetize (LIVE)
    Sunil Sharpe (DJ set)
    Stam – Junction resident

    Doors: 10pm – late
    Admission: 10 euro

With a break of six weeks between this and our last party, December 15th is probably our most anticipated show of the year. Kicking off Junction's year in style with DJ Kalif in February, it seems only fitting that we should finish 2007 in the hands of Sunil Sharpe – who has assembled the full strength lineup of artists on his new record label 'Mantrap', to wreak havok at The Cavern!

Early support to the Mantrap label has been excellent, with names such as The Advent, Billy Nasty, Adam X and the baron himself Dave Clarke, giving their full backing to the first release by Magnetize. Magnetize's "Forced Vortex" EP will be released in December in Ireland, with a worldwide release ready for January.

With live sets from Ed Devane, Rory St.John and Magnetize alongside DJ sets from Sunil and Junction resident Stam; we have no doubt that this one is going to go off in a big way! Get down early as we expect this one to fill up very early! The first 50 people in will also receive free mix CDs to coincide with the launch of the label.

    Ed Devane:
With previous releases on the likes of Touchin' Bass, Spacebar Sentiments and Takeover, Ed Devane’s explosive production style is a culmination of clever musicality, breakneck programming and an avid interest in assaulting people's physical senses. An experimentalist through and through, much of Ed's work shuns an obvious structure or template – driven by a psychotic ferocity that suggests he's not a guy to be messed with.

    Magnetize:
Based in Ireland, Magnetize has been making noize since the early 90s using tape loops, old synths and guitar stomp boxes that was initially heavily influenced by the likes of Suicide, Can, AMM andCoil. These noise experiments continue today, mostly in a live setting and for labels like Trensmat and Rimbaud Records. Magnetize's studio projects are more dancefloor orientated, primarily dark-electro and techno, as last heard on the 'Anti-Chord' EP on Templedog in 2005. In the 'Forced Vortex' EP he has served us with a new offering that follows a different and perhaps more adventurous road to its destination, reminding us that there's only one bad boy present in the Royal County and it ain't Graham Geraghty.

    Rory St John:
Rory St John is a familiar face around Dublin - as a DJ and music enthusiast. His progression from DJ-ing to playing live has been a natural one, with his steady rise as a producer marking him out as one of the most interesting new talents on the techno landscape. With a varied output that bounces through many shades of electronic music and sometimes into wacky xylophone collaborations with his grandad; Rory's long overdue “Ear Cycle” EP will confirm what a big impact he is set to make.

    Upcoming releases:
Mantrap001: Magnetize – Forced Vortex EP [with Ed Devane remix]
Mantrap002: Rory St John – Ear Cycle EP
