    Will the rates go up today or at the end of the month.
    I fec*in fogot the renewal for me car ! :mad:

    Wonder is it worth my while going home to get it ???

    not sure about that, depends on the size of your engine. they did say that over 1.6 ltr would go up alright but I cannot se this being implemented today.
    They must put a date that this will be implemented from, i.e. from Jan 1st 08 etc.
    So I would not bother rushning home. Anyway, you could do it on-line after work hours. (I think)

    Yea - i forgot about that - it was a rush of panic ( and an excuse to p off home for a bit I suppose )

    It will defo go up alright - like most normal people I drive a car greater than 1.6 :rolleyes:

    Rates won't kick in till Jan 1st, as its a "monthly" thing they can't change it overnight AFAIK.

    Motor tax is set outside the budget, afaik

    The revenue from motor tax goes to county councils and not the exchequer.

    So basically, they can change that any time they want
