Garmin = Navteq Ireland Map = Good

Tomtom = Teleatlas Ireland Map = Bad

Seems to be the general consensus.

Other consensus seems to be that the TomTom UI is better but ymmv

That may well be, but I suppose you'll need something pretty to take your mind off being lost:D

Not allways true , it depends on what maps are loaded .

But there aren't going to be any more Navteq maps on any new Tomtoms - and the ones that were released must be pretty much out of date now. That's why I'm now off to the Garmin shop after putting up with Tomtom for a year

I think youll find that NavTeq Europe map v665.1332 is far from out of date !

It might still be usable but people on here asking about buying new Tomtoms should be told that they will only get Teleatlas maps because they're the only ones now available for purchase and/or upgrade.

I was going to get a Tom Tom but this exact issue is making me lean towards a Garmin even though the UI may not be as adaptable
Any thoughts on the new 710 looks pretty cool and suits my needs ??
