    Hi Folks looking for some advice on the new HDMI standard and backwards compatibility.
    I bought the LG 42" PC1D http://uk.lge.com/products/model/detail/plasmatv_42pc1d.jhtml#

    I got a PS3 on Wednesday and a HDMI cable which is version 1.3 i hooked it all up last night and put in a dvd to test.

    Thats when i saw the problem or didnt see it as the case may be.
    Sound no picture!
    i know the TV is HDMI version 1.2 so what i'm looking for is some guidence on the standard i should be using.

    I tried the cable in both HDMI ports and no joy just sound.
    i hooked up the component cable and picture and sound were fine.

    You have to go into the Display settings on the playstation and tell it that your outputting the picture via HDMI.
