Wittgenstein's private language argument

I have to write an essay on section 258 of this godforsaken book. It's supposed to be about what Wittgenstein is claiming in this section, and what other people have said about it. However I find Wittgenstein so utterly baffling, I don't even know where to start. Does anyone here know anything about this section?

You could start by reading something. Maybe google might throw something up if you type in 'Wittgenstein' plus some other terms. Y'think?

Thank you for that incredibly helpful suggestion. Stangely enough, I had already tried that.

Maybe try The Language Instinct by Steven Pinker-a book that is very accessable for the general reader or the specialist? He looks into new research done on language and various philosophies and theories that are related to language, and its use.
