Isn't A tout le monde pushing it a little for a 2007 song...?

    A great song nonetheless.

I've been a serious fan of all of Job for a Cowboy's Genesis album.

    It's a remake

Ah, so it is. The original was better, tbh. Still, quite the epic song.

Ahh, I like Machine Head's "Halo". They were pretty savage live, too.
Also, Megadeth's "Burnt Ice" was class, and same goes for Down's "Over The Under" album. Can't name any particular songs, it was a masterpiece of an album.

None of those songs are released, but oh well.

Not sure if it qualifies as metal but the song Blackbird from Alter Bridge's sophomore album of the same name is quite possibly my song of the year.

    Link

    ****ing brilliant imo.

I quite liked Gallows - Staring at the rude bois. Im not a fan really of Gallows though. Also Foo Fighters - Long Road to Ruin.

Eugh, pretty horrible songs for the most part there op. You chose the ultimate selection of cheese...and i hate to break it to you but the foo fighters are far from metal!! Good in the early days but should have quit while they were ahead.

    My top songs would be:

Nile - As he creates, so he destroys - http://profile.imeem.com/7MaadI/music/ZalajGkP/nile_as_he_creates_so_he_destroys/

    Farmakon - Time Tables

    Dying Fetus - Homicidal Retribution

Hmm... Here's a few the most memorable songs for me:
Dream Theater - Anything from Systematic Chaos
Rotting Christ - Sign of Prime Creation + Keravnos Kivernitos
Nile - Papyrus Containing the Spell....
    High On Fire - Turk
Candlemass - Devil Seed + Of Stars and Smoke
    Darkthrone - Canadian Metal
Desaster - Tyrannizer (and most of the new album)
    Rush - Far Cry

"Mael Mordha - Gaeltacht Mael Mordha" would be very high up on the list for me anyway, and Farmakons 'Robin' album is just fantastic in its entirety, other great songs include:
    Pelican - Far From Fields
Dimmu Borgir - The Serpentine Offering
Amorphis - The White Swan, and, I of Crimson Blood
    Sarpanitum - Halls of Decadence
    Obscurus Advocam - Bounded Artefact

There's lots of songs that weren't released that were some of the finest of 07, but the top singles for me are:

    Nightwish - Bye Bye Beautiful
    Within Temptation - The Howling
    Epica - Never Enough
    Apocalyptica - I'm Not Jesus
Globus - Orchard of Mines (not exactly metal, but cinematic rock)

Speaking of Nightwish and unreleased songs, Last Of The Wilds also deserves a mention I think. One of my fave instrumentals since Crimson Tide/Deep Blue Sea.

I though Machine Head's Aesthetics of Hate would have been mentioned before this. It's easily the best song of 2007 in my opinion. Phil Demmel's guitar work is just fantastic and Dave McClain's drumming is so intricate and yet manages to hold the whole thing together effortlessly.

    Megadeth - Sleepwalker.

Lyrically not the best song I've heard but definitely my favorite.

Agreed and it's brilliant live also.

Evile's "Bathe in Blood" is one of my highlights from 2007.

    Hmm, I'd have to say;

Akercocke - Man Without Faith Or Trust
Nightwish - Cadence Of Her Last Breath
Nile - Papyrus Containing The Spell To Preserve Its Possessor Against Attacks From He Who Is In The Water
    Porcupine Tree - Anesthetize
Tesseract - Concealing Fate Part 1

Didn't buy many new 2007 releases.

    Apocalyptica - I'm not Jesus

Hmmmm, Dream Theater ... the Dark Eternal Night has some tasty riffs in it, although from a complete song perspective I personally like the 'Ministry of Lost Souls' better. Not a technically better song, I just like it more.

The Foo Fighters - toss up between 'the Pretender' and 'Let it Die'
