Okay so I have got sidetracked with school and other things!
So here is my planned build..

    Component

    Monitor
    Samsung 20" LCD Syncmaster 206BW TCO03
    HD Projector w/ screen

    Case
    Thermaltake Armor VA8003BWS

    Hard-Drive
    Samsung SpinPoint T166 500GB SATA2*16MB 7200RPM

    Motherboard
    Asus Striker Extreme

    Power Supply
    Antec True Power Quattro 850W

    Sound Card
    Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi XtremeMusic

    Memory
    Crucial DDR2 BallistiX PC6400 2048MB CL4, BallistiX Tracer

    Optical Drive
    Pioneer BDC-202 Blu-Ray Reader
    Philips DVD rewriter IDE
    Standard CD writer IDE
    Standard Floppy Drive, No bevel

    CPU Cooling
Cooler Master Aquagate Mini Liquid Cooling kit

    Mouse
    Logitech G5 Laser Mouse 2007

    Keyboard
    Logitech G15 Refresh Keyboard

    Operating System
Windows Vista 64 bit Home Premium OEM edition
    Microsoft Win XP Professional

    Speakers
    Logitech Z-5500 5.1 THX

    Graphics Card
    Geforce 7600GS!!!

Okay so I already own some parts.. such as the cooler, the gfx card, XP pro, the mouse, most of the optical drives and the sound card and the HD projector with 72" screen :P

So anyway I need help on a few things:

    32 bit and 2gig or
    64 bit and 4gig or
    64 bit and 2 gig?

What gfx card do you reccomend?
I want DirectX10 at this stage but Im looking for something less than €240 available from an ebay shop, dabs or komplett

    Which processor?
I think I like the look of these two.
Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 or Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600
Bought available at the same price on Komplett
Personally I believe that we will never have 4 core multithreaded games but maybe im wrong.

Will the whole system be HD-compatible?
Will I be watching blu-ray movies day 1?

I have put a lot of research into making this build spec.. So please help!!!

Get faster ram and 32bit with 2gb! imo using 64bit os can cause problems with some programs and drivers etc im on 32bit with 4 gb of ram and its only finding 2.75 of it.. Still theres lots of performance there up from 2..

    Speakers are great :P

Id go for the quad for future proof! Plus your getting liquid cooling..

I don't know anything about blu-ray so I cant help you there!

Well i purchased the ram about 3 hours ago so it was just too late.

As for the quad.. I'm starting to find myself on a tight budget.. was thinking more of a E6750. I don't think I'd ever be a CPU heavy user. Games these days will probably suffice just as well on all 3.

Get a better PSU. Corsair or Seasonic.

Also watch your optical drives-They are IDE. Nothing wrong what that but in this day and age SATA2 is much much better.

Are you having a laugh! That is considered widely as the best PSU available. And according to CustomPC its their third best ever product reviewed and that it is the best because it is efficient, cheap, reliable, powerful and silent while been a normal sized PSU.

At least tell me why I shouldn't trust CustomPC or the Antec?

Im looking for a 800w+ PSU, silent, modular, standard size PSU with rear-facing fan.... within €150

    Few questions...

Why are you getting such a powerful psu, when you wont be using any of its power?

Why are you spending so much on the motherboard?

When you get a good one for half that price and spend the remainder on a hd-dvd drive....

I would get quad core 2,4ghz

    Ati HD3870

Whats the delivery rates like on that german site?

Jeez... Thats such a bummer... Can someone reccomend a similar PSU.

Oh btw the expenisive mobo and powerful psu..
I wish to upgrade as least as possible because i'll never get around to it!!
As well as that I want a great quality motherboard to overclock with etc.

The mobo you recommended seems like a good option tho. As for the HD-DVD.. I don't want to waste my money... Blu-ray is seeming more popular at the moment!

Nice graphics card... tho is it better than the Club3D GeForce 8800GT 512MB GDDR3 or other 8800GTs?

    Still pondering bout the processor....

    Still pondering bout the processor....

German site is very good, delivery this time of the year is about 2 weeks, about €30 for delivery....

Blu-ray will probably do better, but theres great exclusives on hd-dvd matrix, terminator, batman, lord of the rings (which will be insane in hd) and universal stuff like jurassic park, jaws and many more....

Graphics is very good and about €70 cheaper than the 8800gt (which are sold out everywhere) which is slightly faster, but the 8800gt is not a better card for hd playback imo...

Quad core is the way to go,you can get it to 3.0ghz or above on a good board....

This board is also very good at a good price....
