Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Just to let you know, amazon.com started a BOGO sale today.

    HD DVD's are going for about $10 before shipping. It's an absolute steal. I just bought a load! $300 worth :-(

    Went on a shopping frenzy, got non sale hd dvd's too. It's gonna take me a while to watch all of them!

    If ordering from amazon.com one thing to be careful of is not to order too many discs at once as you could get hit for customs and vat, especially in the run up to christmas. Remember what happened with play.com last christmas.

    yep but that's 2 HD-DVDs (with 2 free) and with offers like this it's very tempting to stock up.:D

    Some classics, casino, goodfellas etc.

    Also got ones that weren't in the sale, Batman begins, planet earth. I was feeling Christmassy too and got National Lampoons Christmas Vacation. I'm skeptical how good that will look but its a film I watch every year around this time.

    The lack of region coding is fantastic I think. DVD really annoyed me in that area. To be be able to order HD DVD's from anywhere in the world and know that it will work in my player is great. It means that in the future there will always be bargains to be had.

    Disks just arrived, paid nothing.

    Had a look through my charges though and Amazon charged me $60 for VAT in Ireland! So it as taking care of.

    Great deal I must say. I was in HMV yesterday and they were charging about €40/45 a movie :eek:

    Not from Amazon you don't as they are VAT registered in Ireland so you just pay it to them when ordering.

    Expect a note in the door from the Revenue telling you that you owe them money. Either that or you're incredibly lucky.

    Well I got the matrix trilogy from amazon, on its own with nothing else and was charged €18 customs so count yourself lucky....
