GA Flying in OZ

    Has anyone flown down under? Heading down for a year after xmas and I'd love to get a few flying lessons, anyone any experiences?

    Ah yeah forgot they had GA forums. Its easy get lost in the abuse and madness of the commercial threads :)

    Not sure about OZ, but I know Jandakot airport outside Perth is busy GA airport with couple of commerical flight schools.
    A lot of the flying in partws of Oz is the scenic variety where you are taken for a very expensive ride.

    Now if you are heading to Nz, then drop into Air Wakatipu in Queenstown.
    Very nice bunch and you can do flying lesson together with great scenic flight in one go.
    Of course where you go in Southern Alps will depend on the weather but some of the most gorgeous scenery in the world down there.
