Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Stage 1 is 209.8MB so 8 minutes would be a tad optomistic alright.:)

Microsoft does not recommend installing this software on primary or mission critical systems

Whatever that means. I'll wait to see what havok it causes.

Lots of info here. The guy reckons it took an hour to install.

At least and hour. Probably more depending on your internet connection and computer speed.
    Stage 1 - 209.8MB - Reboot
    Stage 2 - 4MB - Reboot
    Stage 3 - Can't remember size - Reboot
Stage 4 - 500+MB - (Actual service pack) Multiple reboots

I hope when it's officially released that it's available as an iso download or be able to order the DVD (like XPSP2). I'd hate to have to go through the above on multiple machines.

Is it build Microsoft Windows [Version 6.0.6001] v.668 and out of interest does it stick a Evaluation copy. Build 6001 on the bottom right of your desktop?

Yes it is. No evaluation tag on the desktop.

    yeah does for me anyway

Grand picked it up a few days back just checking it was the latest release I have. Think the desktop evaluation tag goes away if you change your locale to US. It did on previous versions of the beta. No issues here so far anyway. I can't say I notice any major performance increase as yet although there doen't seem to be as much disk thrashing going on now.

Use this to remove the writing down the bottom right corner:

    http://www.ghacks.net/2007/12/10/remove-evaluation-copy-from-vista-sp1/

Ive noticed a much faster resume from sleep, and from a cold boot once I log in everything becomes resposive much faster. Also transfer speeds to my external F/W hard drive have jumped from 20mbps to 28mbps on average.

The standalone download is available aswell.

    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/windowsvista/bb969139.aspx

The evaluation tag doesn't show with a dreamscene desktop, thats why I didn't see it, but it shows with a normal background.

The tag didnt turn up till I done my second reboot, kinda wierd.

Only a few megs, but it took forever to download and install for some reason.
