Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I bought into the character. And I know lots of other 8 year olds that did too!

Mae Young giving birth to a hand.

Even when he made Warrior throw up? Tut tut I'm disappointed! ;)

Especially when he made the Warrior throw up. My first thought was "****, what if he puts a curse on me?!".

The whole Eddie Guererro marathon storyline after his death wasn't for me. The stupid stuff I can deal with but the Eddie stuff was just about the dirtiest way a promoter can make money.

    Katie Vick.
HBK having God as a tag team partner.
Hardy fighting with Edge over Lita..... oh wait a second.......

90% of storylines over the last few years. Fake Kane

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,346 ✭✭✭Double C

The Invasion angle. It should have been brilliant, but it was terrible, they messed it up big time. They wasted Matt Hardy vs Edge too, they could have milked it for what it was worth, but instead they rushed it and tossed it aside. The best story lines are the simple ones and Edge vs Hardy would have written itself.

I enjoyed the Snitsky baby killer thing, the God angle and to an extent the Tim White thing. They were retarded, but they were funny at the same time so it's all good in my book! The Hussan stuff was awesome too. He made valid points about being victimised for racial abuse. It was relevant and similar to the LAX thing in TNA back when they were good. Although hearing all JR's US loving sthick got boring fairly fast.

Katie Vick - OH HOW I LAUGHED!

Kane/Triple H and his Necrophilia? Though that was kinda tied in with the Katie Vick thing?!

    Some utter classics!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,365 ✭✭✭✭rossie1977

i liked the mr america storyline, especially the way piper sold it when he first came out, that was brilliant, the lie detector bit was great fun to watch too, the storyline elevated zach gowen too for a while

in fact how can hulk hogan appearing on wwe tv ever be a bad thing??? i am not even that big of a fan of hogan but the guy just has something none of the rest have and that includes the austins, rocks of this world

'Eddie is in hell' - Randy Orton and Rey Mysterio

There have been bad storylines, but I don't think anything annoyed me as much as that one.

I misread that as Batista/Melina rape Angle. Could have been a good story.

Personally, I disliked any time they tried to pull the p!55 out of WCW, the Huckster and Billionaire Ted annoied me, so did Fake Diesal and Fake Razor, but dX invading WCW was classic (god I'm getting old)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,492 ✭✭✭EdK

Kane's May 19th storyline cuz nothing actually happened on may 19th if i remember besides See No Evil coming out

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 21,235 ✭✭✭✭flahavaj

Torrie Wilson's aul fella having a heart attack while shagging Dawn Marie on their wedding night. At least the other storylines in this thread involved actual WRESTLERS. This involved two worthless Diva's that no one gave a **** about. Ugh.

How has no one mentioned the illiegitimate son angle

I seem to remember something of Tatanka being an evil Native American (or something along those lines. :) WCW had their fair share also (marks down 'Finding Cactus Jack' on list).

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,925 ✭✭✭Otis Driftwood

Hands down the worst was Rikishi running over Austin - such opportunity wasted

A close 2nd was the Undertaker/Diamond Dallas Page stalker angle involving Takers wife.
Everyone knew page was happily married at the time of the invasion so he was the worst possible candidate you could have for the job.
I was really hoping for someone like Vampiro - a sinister charector that had had some pretty decent violent matches.
    Very annoyed with this one.

this was another story-line with alot of potential, tatanka kept saying luger was turning his back on his country bla bla, they fought over it in the ring and ted dibiase came down to ringside, supposedly to pay off luger, he kept gesturing to luger but in the end it was tatanka that turned on luger and joined dibiase, quite surprising at the time.

the angle failed primarily because the million dollar corporation were a bunch of mid-carders and jobbers

The BigBossman v Big show storyline was pretty bad ...

    Mcmahon Vs God

Randy Orton slagging Eddie after he died .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,346 ✭✭✭Double C

The McMahon vs God thing had some of the funniest promos ever from Vince. It was all so OTT that you just had to laugh. I also got a kick out of the Big Bossman stealing the Big Show's dads coffin, but maybe thats just me!

nedtheshed raises a good point, Vampiro would have been good in that role instead of DDP, but the chances of Vince hiring that guy would be slim at best.

    How is Katie Vick
never heard that name in me life.

Kurt Angles obsession with booker Ts wife was fairly ****e.

When i read the title of the thread of this i immediatly thought of that angle, no pun intended :D

But anything with Kenzo Suzuki was plain wrong, i'm just casting my mind back to Smackdown in 2004 that summer, there was a lot of terrible storylines back then. JBL's title reign (at the start it was pretty ****e), Rico and Charlie Haas as tag champs, Mordecai, Chavo Classic and not to mention the 'burial' of Paul Bearer in cement by the Undertaker. Every storyline dragged on and on.

Kane's ex-girlfriend who died in a car crash (I think). Kane then slept with her corpse. Or did he? Maybe it was just HHH saying that he did. HHH provided a re-enactment of it anyway

One of the funniest segments I've seen in WWE occurred on the back of that Katie Vick angle. It was when Booker and Goldust were tag partners and there was a scene where Booker is talking to Kane and says, "Come on Kane. No one believes what Triple H is saying. I mean, who the hell would have sex with a dead body?!" And Goldust is in the background and begins to nervously raise his hand before saying, "What? I was young and stupid." :D

I've not seen that bit in years. Haven't been able to find it on Youtube unfortunately.

Yeah the Kane necrophilia angle was just stupid but did provide some laughs!

Im surprised nobody has mentioned the Vince faking his own death angle when everybody knew theres no way he could be really dead. WWE tryin to take us all for a bunch of saps again!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,657 ✭✭✭komodosp

Haven't watched it since it was WWF, but any story line involving a character who hates America!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,177 ✭✭✭Wompa1

Well just cus I expected something bigger, Wrestlemania Last Year...Takers Winnings Streak against the title..it made so much sense for him to win the title and then lose it straight away from Kennedy cashing in on the money in the bank....Taker loses his streak and the title in one night..it could of been a nice shock like!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,284 ✭✭✭Gerard.C

If Ken Kennedy took Undertakers streak last year, I would have just given up watching wrestling.

Although, I suppose I didn't hate Kennedy back then as much as I do now....

Still, you get my point ;)

A few of us predicted that both Edge and Taker would keep their Wrestlemania streaks intact and Edge would cash in his Money in the Bank shot right after the Taker match.

Dunno if it's been mentioned but moppy.

Also, King of the Ring 98 I think where Too Cool pinned "Head" (Al Snow's mannequin) by screwing a bottle of head and shoulders to it's base, thus giving it some shoulders so it can be pinned.

It's been mentioned, but that was good! I think it was talked about on the latest podcast, I haven't had the time to give it a full listen though

The incident when the nWo crashed the truck into the Rock's ambulance. Everything about it from the terrible acting, Hogan saying "I'm going to lay the smackdown on his crippled ass", their attempts at 'running' away and especially JR's insane commentary had me pi**ing myself laughing.

    Mcmahon Vs God

Greatest storyline ever. Getting the ref to search God! The fireworks stopping Vince getting into the ring! Vince in the church! Vince eh healing people! Vince performing miracles! Great stuff.

I didn't like the ending. Should have been God vs Vince in a cage match.

Ever notice that, most of the time, when WWE does stupid stuff, it rules, but when TNA does it, it always sucks the dick?

  • Registered Users Posts: 275 ✭✭gaz15

Edge and Vicky Guerrero at the moment is bloody stupid and would put you off watching Smackdown!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,947 ✭✭✭rizzla

Santino a supposed non wrestler in the crowd who was chosen at "random" to partake in a wrestling match. Which completly undermines the whole, "don't try this at home" messages WWE produce, because as far as the casual fan is concerned that is just another member of the public chosen to wrestle.

Mark Henry given a ten year contract!

The Billy and Chuck fake gay wedding was utterly crap, only saving grace was the unveiling as Eric Bischoff as the minister.

    Diva Search!

No way. That was a great angle. The montage of all their hugs and slaps on the arse before it was priceless.

They were a good tag team too.

Agreed, it was painful watching the clips of them during Armageddon. The Hornswoggle Khali thing is just annoying aswell.

How about the one where Eddie Guerrero was supposed to the be the real father of Rey Mysterio's kid? I thought that was pretty dire. I can't believe both men agreed to do that one.

Rey is just a yes man. I lost all respect for him after that program, probably ended up giving the kid future mental problems in latter life. They even had a kid on a pole match or something like that.

Rey did say in an interview that his son wasn't comfortable being on tv and he didn't really understand what was going on. I can't see him putting his kids on tv again

But even after the Eddie/Rey, Dominic thing. He went and brought his kid back in for the Chavo/Vicky/Rey thing. I say if he was asked to do it again he would.
