we have been skiing plenty of times, group of 6 students! Flights booked to girona(barcelona).

Wondering where to go in Andorra?
Best way to transfer to resort?
    Cheap accomodation recommendations beside slopes?

We rented a car for the week and drove to Andorra, worked out at €50 a head and gave us plenty of freedom to go to different ski fields.
We stayed in Arinsal, good town for night time, not mental though and were skiing in the local spots, one newish place was the best, about half hour drive from Arinsal, can't remember the name of it, will google it later and post it up.

Better than either of the local ones though in/near Arinsal.
We rented a chalet off this dude, house was fine but owner was a w*nker, mind you we did do a small bit of damage;)

Yeah - rent a 7 seater if you havent all got gear to haul with you's!
We drove to Pas de la Casa from Barca - about 3 hours (taking it handy)
Although we missed the flight home cos there was about 2 1/2 ft of snow overnight on the last night - and our two 7 seaters got buried  (as they were parked in the village car park as the apartments had no guest spaces)
So if you are parked open air - make sure you get up in enough time! We learned our lesson! Luckily one of the girls worked for Aer Lingus and she got the flights changed to Cork later in the evening and we rented a car from there and left it in Dublin Airport!
LOL - great holiday - great memories - the laugh we have about it now!!! :D

To be honest, I wouldn't recommend driving unless you've done a lot of driving in snow and ice on mountains before. A group of us were in Andorra 2 years ago, in Pas de la Casa and we had some horrific weather on the way to the resort (middle of a storm). We booked a transfer and even that driver was finding it difficult. There were 7 of us and it only cost EUR85 each so it's well worth it. if you stay in Pas de la Casa you don't need a car anyway, there's a huge ski area all linked up (Soldeu, canillo, encamp).
