    A New Album Deal

The Japanese Popstars have agreed to signed the relelase their debut album over to Gung-Ho Recordings, who will be releasing a prompt string of singles in 2008 from the lads. Gung-Ho! Recordings was setup by Matt Stuart, co-founder of Underwater Records, in 2005 and has had a host top quality of releases over the last few years.

The first release will be the long awaited MASSIVE "Delboys Revenge" which will drop in Jan 08 and has had amazing support last year from the likes of Radio 1, 2manyDJs, Trophy Twinz and Fergie - bizzarely, all after a copy of the track leaked out in Ibiza! It was included in Fergies Essential Mix from Meganite on Radio 1 and was given the "Speaker Freaker" title of the biggest tune in his box on his BBC Radio 1 show!

"We Just Are", is the name of the Popstars debut album, which will be hitting mid-2008! There are over 20 tracks to choose from and the lads are currently busy compiling and finishing off the tracklisting. More news on that later....

Dirty Popstars On Your Radio Release

The second release from The Japanese Popstars on Dozer and they have picked the track that for the last year, the audience have been shouting back the hook to the guys when they drop this track....along with the occassional moshing, air cowbelling and general riotious behaviour once the dirtiest bassline you'll ever hear kicks in.

26th November is when the official release hits with the Original mix by The Japanese Popstars plus Deadbots, Charlie Fanclub, Lievense & Magavock, SiSi, Totally Random DJs and the Celtec Twinz remixes released on both 12" vinyl and MP3 formats worlwide.

Thats six amazing remixes that have gained early support coming from the likes of Boys Noize, Andrew Weatherall, XFM, The Flash Brothers, Kiss FM, Mr Spring, Cassette Jam, Fergie, The Loose Cannons, 2FM, BBC Radio 1, Eddy Temple-Morris and Azzido Da Bass.

    ABOUT THE POPSTARS:

Shortlisted for Best Live Performance at the N.Ireland Dance Music Awards 2007 and Best House DJs at the world Urban Music Awards 2006!!

The Japanese Popstars started out as a drunken idea sitting in a field of a major festival, I'll have you know. A combination of artists who have had number ones in Australian and American charts, played Glastonbury, Homelands, had a strew of releases, remixes, major radio support and even 3 tours of Australia. The lads have now headlined at some of the worlds largest clubs, are residents in two clubs in Ireland and one in Ibiza, been asked to remix Justin Timberlake and have even been in shortlisted for both Best House DJs at the world Urban Music Awards 2006 and Best Live Performance at the N.Ireland Dance Music Awards 2007!

One year ago The Japanese Popstars started using MySpace as a tool to send demos and hit DJs with their tracks and mixes, gaining a huge amount of interest from major labels A&R, DJs and building a fanbase, they signed three singles and one album deal to Paul Jackson's new Dozer records. Hoping that Paul Jackson could "Push" (excuse the pun) the trio to the right people and get their music heard in the right ears.

"Rodney Trotter" was to be the first release to be slot into a hectic schedule of gigs and remixes, being released in April 07. It was to be a BESTSELLER on HTFR.com, selling out on the 12" pressings and gaining the support of Pete Tong, Deepgroove, Eddy Temple-Morris, Paul Woolford, 2ManyDJs, Steve Lamacq and Fergie! Remixes came from Rui Da Silva, Lief and Paul Jackson himself and the track has been licensed to a few compilations including the "Cat Walk Sessions Vol.2" and "It's Only A Mixtape! Vol 2", which includes their next single also.

Now off the back of two of their tracks being included on Vol 2 of "It's Only A Mixtape!" they have been asked to compile and mix one of the series themselves! They are currently putting together upfront tracks and releases for this compilation, which will see full release later this year on Ministry Of Sound. The tracklisting will contain tracks that are reflective of their award nominated DJ sets and a few unreleased dancefloor bombs from some of the top producers in the scene and possibly one or two of their own tunes.

As the lads reputation grew and they were asked to be resident DJs at Irelands new superclub "Tripod" in Dublin, playing there on a bi-monthly basis, putting its amazing soundsystem to the test and they have also had the call from Fergie for his Ibiza Club as guest residents at his night called Excentric, which happened in the summer of 2007.

Major heads in the industry have tipped The Japanese Popstars as the ones to watch. They have literally appeared out of nowhere. The amount of giant leaps that they have taken in the dance music industry is an accolade in itself and even dance magazine Mixmag have labelled them as the ones to keep an eye on.
