Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    hi guys
i have been trying to get a wireless router and a netopia eircom modem to work!
i recently reformatted and reinstalled windows xp on my dell, and i successfulyl got the internet to work via usb and then ethernet, but i changed the connectivity method so many times i think i mite have confsed the computer! so now when i go to network connections int eh control panel there is nothing other than '1394' n ethernet r anything else!
so got onto eircome they said my ethernet drivers werenet installed, installed them and still no go!
any ideas what this might be!?
its really really bugging me, here i am on another computer! inconvenient to say the least!
    thanks for your time,
    ed

Ummm, if your PC thinks it doesn't have a network card, it ain't gonna let you connect to a network. :)

So the first step should be getting the network card working.

Open Computer Management and see if there is anything showing with a yellow exclamation mark. If there is, then it's a driver problem (i.e. it detects something, but doesn't know how to talk to it).

IIRC 1394 is firewire or some thing , its NOT your network card - is it a laptop ?

check http://support.dell.ie for drivers for your computer
hint: if you name the model someone may even know which NIC to download
