What Ammo limit do you have on your license?
Would it be worth it including postage etc?

i would imagine the postage costs would be pretty high due to the weight...

Not too sure if you could even get it shipped through air freight. A lot of carriers don't do ammo. And as mentioned above: shipping cost would read like an international phone number due to weight..

There are some past threads floating around on this but the jist is its possible but lots and lots of red tape.

Not worth the hassle, .22LR can be got just as cheaply here and with no hassle. Example: Federal Value Pack, 36 grain hollowpoint, 500 for 20 euro in Duffy's. Buy it myself, you can't go wrong. Also American Eagle .22 (Federal again), 20 euro for 400 rounds, heavier bullets + more accurate than above.

Aside from the hassle, you wouldn't want to have the extra risk of damage in transit.

seeig as you dont need an import license from outside the EU, does anyone know if the Isle of Man is considered part of the EU or not?

Hello Traumadoc, it's crown territory but not a constituent part of the UK nor an EU member. It has agreements in place with the EU relating to circulation of goods etc etc but it's not a member in the true sence of the word.

Just a point - you cannot use the postal system to transport ammunition. If ammunition is discoverd in the mail then you, the shooting community in general (through the bad publicitiy) and not forgetting the dealer will be in a lot of trouble, in the origin country and here.
