I've only had it for 2 days (in the trial version thing), and have found myself thinking about it at work already!

The OH is eyeing it up suspiciously thinking it is going to be the next Guildwars or FM.. of course I assure her it isn't

Glad to see an Irish site for Eve, I've been looking around and only came across it there now.

ya remember saying to my self ill just try the trial but wont pay for it because thats just stupid and poeple who pay 14 euro a month for a game are insane........anyway 2 years and 3 accounts later i'm still bloody playing and logging in every day >_<

Well atm I am trying to calculate how much time I can devote to it per day.. I was thinking if I cut back an hour on the sleeping..Saturday is football day....

It is down for maintainence, but when I go on again in a few hours I'll join one of the Irish Corps and start learning how to play this game properly:cool:

no good irish corps for noobs really that im awear of anyway best bet would be boob head's if you really want a irish corp other wise meh.

what are you going to do in game anyway? pvp, mining etc?

That is the thing Bizmark.. I haven't a clue what I'll do.. A bit of this, a bit of that.. and I know people say it is better to specialise, but until I find something I particuarly enjoy, I won't do that.

Given the size of the Islands population, I wouldn't think there would be too many noobs in any Irish Corp.. so any one of them will do

Well most mains arent speced tbh mine has 140 skills you just need to try stuff out and see what you like first .......Um not sure what to suggest on the corp side tbh I have two avatars in 1 corp but its not irish apart from myself and 2 other's also its pritty carebeary (mining/missions) but i tend to just do my own thing so suits me.....used to be a boards.ie corp but havent heard a damn thing from them in a while.

Well at the minute I am a 'cadet' in a SpaceMarines one.. I've started a debate witht he boss however, so that might not last long.. unless he/she agrees with me

Are the Irish chat areas still open? I'm just farting around and really don't know too much when it comes to making money etc.. tho I did buy a mining kinda ship:D

Remember getting the free trial in an email, and being bored with bf2, thought why not. Addicted within the first 2 hours and managed to drag a few of the nrg lads with me, not all stay'd but still a few in the game now.

Theres the irish room but it died a death along time ago is full of alliance/war cock fagging wouldnt recommend it any more tbh although others might disagree i was there for over a year and a half its just a horrible place now compered to what it was.

could rant on that issue but i wont.

im in the same position as ulaid myself, only im just about to finish my 2nd free trial before subscribing for good in a few days :P with the "death" of the irish channel ingame is there anywhere to talk to non "OMG I PWNZ ALL" types that are helpful? just need like a wing for shelter to guide me in the right direction so to speak.

Im looking to be a fighter type, start off small and build my way up. Quite like the thought of a mercenary, so if anyone could point me in the right direction there. Been constantly rerolling but with the latest character i made i think ive cracked it and finally getting to grips with how things work... Ive a destroyer and im sitting around 2 million isk after 3 days and 850K sp lol :P but i think ive gimped him..

Im sitting on around 5 intelligence and 6 memory, but thats with one rank of a memory skill book learned. Will i be totally gimped in the future in regards to learning electronics and the like?, its already taking a bit longer to learn the related skills to those stats than say, rapid firing or controlled bursts took me to learn.

Should i reroll to that race combo that websites give with the 3 charisma so my char is more balanced down the line when i have a few million sp?

my stats: charisma 6, Intelligence 5, Perception 16, Memory 6, Willpower 15

just doing the missions, reprocessing all the stuff i wasnt going to use now or in the near future and just selling it off. also havent lost a ship on this character yet because my finger is almost constantly hovering over the "warp to within 0m" of a starbase when im doing missions ^^

you could join the Hematite Rose public channel thats the one im in most of the time name there is Darkireland they will help you out good bunch of lads

your stats can rise by like 9 with learning skills to lvl 5 basic and advanced to lvl 4 + you have 2% extra per learning (the skill learning) level l then you have implants so its up to you combat pilots should be pritty high in percep/willpower but you might of unblanced it a tad ;p

not sure if trial alts can make contracts? if you can you could just contract it over to the new avatar once hes made if you cant do that and your around caldari space you could give it to me and ill just trade it over again some time tonight.

you could still get your avatar up to like 17-18 intell/memory with implants if you wanted its lowish like but its not totaly awful (could be wrong mind) like my perception is 22 and willpower 20 with +4's

we were talking about starting stats, they effect how fast you learn things, so for example, the higher your willpower and perception, the faster you learn skills that require those stats.

Ill give you a shout later on ingame to see what the craic is, ive some stupid name like joxer rigante... no idea why i made that surname lol but ill see ya out there!

I've now let the wee sister on my home computer.. and yes, I am bored..

I wonder if it is possible to play it on this laptop? It isn't the best (700 RAM approx), and when I have loaded it up, I can't see the writing.. it is too small.

Should work on laptop fine with classic graphics.

Oh it loads etc no problem, the lag however, is devastating.
