Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi all,

how well do you think Rally Ireland was publicised, sure anybody who knew of it, knew about it but overall, do you think think it was given an extensive push or was just another "cricket" big at the time and drift away again...... I think more could've been done to get it into more homes or to passive sports fans.

I think it was done well, remember the organisers were trying to get back in for another year(s) and the main problem they thought they would have was crowd control and traffic. Over advertising and making it even more accessable to the public would of led to people who have never been to a rally, turning up wary of parking on the side of the road etc..(its not mondello after all) and causing major traffic problems, therefore making the rally look bad and the FIA unimpressed.
I think the whole organising team did an amazing job, i have been to other wrc events and to run an event like that, on public roads with little access is a great achievement.

Organisers did a good job but RTE coverage was woeful so little hope of conquest fans.

Could have got a top Irish driver + one of the big names (maybe Gronholm - or Loeb for the ladies) to appear on the Late Late or something. Push it into the public consciousness...
