Backpacking from India to Vietnam, flight advice..

    Hey,

Im planning to travel to Mumbai in February probably, through india, nepal, burma and thailand, finishing in Vietnam. Hoping this trip will take about three or four months. Just wondering what airlines people have used for trips like this and if it is better to buy one way tickets to the start point and from the end point or if airlines offer any packages where you can have your return flight from a different country (bit new to travelling anywhere outside Europe!). Any other advice really appreciated, my plans are fairly flexible at the moment...

    Hey,

Airasia.com are good once you get to Burma - they fly to Bangkok from there and from Bangkok there are numerous choices that should suit you

They are reliable and very cheap for travel.

In Vietnam, get the backpaker bus pass, it brings you everywhere and in order, you just have to decide whether to start in Hanoi or Saigon.

Air Asia fly Bangkok to Hanoi so maybe working your way down is the best bet
The places to stop are Hoi An, Hue, Nha Trang, Dalat, Muine - avoid Danang like the plague, its a godforesaken dive!!

If you have any questions on Burma, Thailand or Vietnam, feel free to PM me
    Have a blast!
