    "Tyrone manager Mickey Harte has called up nine newcomers but omitted Ger Cavlan, who was implicated in a dog fighting scandal earlier this year, in a 37-man Dr McKenna Cup squad.

    Cavlan, who was embroiled in controversy in August after a BBC Spotlight programme linked him to the world of illegal dog fighting, is a notable omission. He is not named as being among those not considered due to injury."

    At last i hope Micky Harte has taken a stand on this issue, i come from the Tyrone area and there has been a lot of ill feeling as to why he was allowed to remain on the team after the Tv exposure.

    Great, and thanks for bringing this to the forums attention.

    Just a pity the county board didn't take the oppertunity to pubically denounce what Cavlan did.

    Perhaps now the Manager has been so public in his response(though far too late for some people to stomach) the County Board will give him their full support on the issue, it will be interesting to see how they handle it.
